Confessions of a Book Fiend

Update: In time for the holidays, I have 11"x17" poster prints of this comic (or any other comic) available for $15 plus shipping. Contact me at gsnider11@gmail.com if you're interested. I would include a used paperback book with each order, but I really do intend to read it someday.

  1. LOL, it's so true that even hurts! I already hurt my left foot with a book shelf incident.

  3. Stop being my life. NOW.

  4. Even more dangerous and insidious are the library book sales. If you don't get a fatal paper cut or get stabbed with an umbrella while diving for the same book as a feisty little old lady, you'll get a hernia on the last day when everything is $1 for all you can fit in a box...

  6. Two words. Lifeline Bookfest. A Bazillion sq feet of used books for sale for charity. e.g. fill a bag/book/trailer of books for $10 then write off your weekend/life.

  7. This is basically me, except for one thing: I CURRENTLY DON'T OWN A BOOKSHELF. I'm finding some interesting places to stash all those books I ain't got time to read. D:

  8. Even worse: I WORK in a comic book store that also sells used books. D: D:

  11. Wonderful. What about the nefarious methods of getting books into the home once a ban has been laid down?

  15. Awesome cartoon and now poster, Grant! I'm a librarian in Portland, Oregon and my good friend Carolyn who lives in KC sent me one of your posters. I believe you met her at All Souls. I am totally having it framed and putting it up in my work space here at the library. All my fellow book fiends will be jealous! Of course I will let them know where they can get their own copy. :)

  17. I don't know whether to be happy there are so many book fiends around or worry about the competition.

  18. My husband looked at my over-loaded bookshelves and said we need to get rid of some books. I was horrified and told him that we just needed more bookshelves!

  19. Where I live in the UK the government are slashing the budget for the public sector and closing many of the libraries. So we will be rich but stupid.

  20. Ohh my gosh... I love all your posters. My boyfriend gets on my case about books all the time. I have been ban to buy, borrow or look at any new ones; until I finish the pile of books near my bed. :C Keep up the great work.

  22. Problem? Problem? Whaztheprob? I'm 60+, now in my retirement diggs, with oh 1000-1500+ hardcopy books. But, but....compared to my much younger citizen readers...they of the proud high school and college never needed to check out a hardcopy book from the library..it's all digital now Pops (as I'm now affectionately called, hardcopy is sooooo yesterday, rest home fodder, Pops. Yeah yeah young Skywalkers... but if you added the time/text/and word count spent on twitter/web reading and Kindle downloading, I'll bet my 1000+ hardcopy will be a midgit size. Yes? As the problem. Yo dude, you're the cool one now, all the dollies and 20+ dudes are just iPod junkies, you've got the hardcopy jones, and better, the true brainwave. It's the text as read, not wood or electrons. All else is dross. Rock on et plus ca change.
