Understanding Poetry

Happy National Poetry Month! This comic was inspired by one of my favorite poems, "The New Poetry Handbook" by Mark Strand. This month on Incidental Comics, I'll be exploring the world of poetry. A place, as Marianne Moore famously said, of  "imaginary gardens with real toads in them."

That is beautiful!
For the longest time I thought that poetry wasn't for me. However, I find myself, more and more drawn to it… and your blog just makes me all the more excited. I love the things you make and I hope you'll continue to make them for a very long time.

I love these! Especially that, just as many poems do, these simple visuals and few words say a great deal. Thank you for sharing.

All you need is here , just read
No need to be a writer .
If a few words make you smile
Your words leave others lighter .

You made me smile .

This would be the poster I'd like to hang on my wall. Any chance you could print this too?
