Enormous Glasses

Special thanks to my elementary school classmates who unknowingly lent their yearbook pictures for the first set of panels in this comic. Here's some of the painful reference material...

  1. I remember a girl with giant hair accessories from school. I think they had much the same effect on her as your glasses did.

    Nice strip.

  2. Aww I had the umbrella bangs, or the "half-bowl" as I like to call them. My brother had the full bowl cut. Our childhood pictures are hilarious, especially when I sport the at-the-time popular side pony/half-bowl combo.

  4. I, too, am a victim of the enormous glasses condition (at one point mine were RED!!). After 20 years of being freed from their grips with the wonder of contact lenses, I have, once again been thrust into their unforgiving clutches. I gave up the fight and have decided to, instead, embrace the lifestyle of a blogger ;)

  5. I believe we have all had this issue as children. I was a victim of a much more torturous hair style, however. My mother would take clear tape and stick it to my umbrella bangs when they needed a trim. She would then proceed to chop the tape off in an attempted straight line. What actually resulted was jagged ends and far too short bangs that took weeks to grow back out. I'm wondering if anyone else had this experience or if my mother was (as I expect) just a true master of butchering hair?
